Artichoke, Asparagus, Tomato & Onion Tart
Gordon Ramsay's family fare cook book challenge day 5:
*Artichoke, Asparagus, Tomato & Onion Tart with Baguette $ Butter Pudding as desert
SHOPPING:How hard it is to find artichoke, no fresh ones, no canned ones, I end up with a small jar of them imported from Spain -_-|||, I thought we grow them here. Quail eggs are something very common in Chinese cooking, not much here, tried both sobeys and save easy with no luck, end up with eggs instead.
The desert need a liquor called Cointreau, first time had it it is a orange smell liquor, almost smell like a cocktail itself.
COOKING: Cooking was not a smooth sail this time, I could not find the already made fluffy pastry, so I made pastry by myself from flour, took quite long. I forgot to buy yellow onion, ends up with red one. The desert needs to be put into a pan that is half merged into hot water, but I could not find a roast pan that was big enough to put in my desert pan, ends up with splitting them to two smaller pan. Sweats!
TASTE: Everything on the tart tasted delicious except the tart itself, the pastry I made was too hard, feel like breaking jaws when eating it. The Gordon home made salad dressing on the vegges are really good, I think I will use them for my usual salad dressing. The desert is a adult version sweets because it still tastes like liquor lol, but it does taste high quality and very rich.Colin had whole one row of that in one day :S.
