Spring Garden Soup
Gordon Ramsay's family fare cook book challenge day 45:
*Spring Garden Soup
I was pride of myself today. I ate a whole bowl of vegetables, except small pieces of bacon, it was a big bowl of all kinds of good veges make moms happy. Rather then called spring garden soup, it is more of a hearty fall or winter warmer. The combination of bacon, leek, onion, carrots and turnip reminds me of the pungent, flavorful soup filled with ripe and nutritious harvest vegetables just picked from the golden field, peaking with its fresh taste and goodness. It is a absolutely a great soup for a cold fall night.
If you are out side of Canada and live in north Hemisphere. It means you probably have to go to work today. You probably just arrived work for the cold morning and just want to read easy reading news. It is not fair you have to listen to me talking about this warm and hearty soup that can warm one up and bring a relaxed smile on the face. However there is good news. this soup is easy and fast to make. As long as you gathered all the ingredients, all left to do is chop chop. Even better if you have a food processor, this meal takes about 20m to make. I definitely love my food processor.
The only draw back of the soup was it took some salt to season, although the recipe would make enough for around 6 people, so it was not that much slat when divided. Man, it is against my nature to put in so much salt in to one pot. Wonder why all the soup on the market labeled "heart attack" on their nutrition info? This one is really not that bad compared.
