Gordon Ramsay's family fare cook book challenge day 21:
*Ginger & Port Marinated Lamb Skewers with Green bean, Spinach & Red Onion Salad.
Similar recipe online, but the book is so worth it: http://www.dadamo.com/typebase4/recipedepictor7x.cgi?806
The lamb skewer was delicious! I never saw people put lamb and ginger together, but it worked! The wine and ginger got rid of the stench of lamb. This BBQ dish is light tasting and rich in flavor, a real good BBQ! It was a shame, it is already too cold out to do BBQ, so I used broiler of my stove. I can imagine a charcoal BBQ would do wonders to flavors on top of this. The Salad is zesty with balsamic vinegar and olive oil, I ran out of baby spinach so I used blanched cabbage instead. It worked ok since the salad tasted good. It is really true that sometimes simple is more, a simple ingredient salad dressing tasted way better and fresher then the ones from a bottle, no more Kraft dressing for me, I got a way cheaper and easier way now, ha.
